On Sunday 26 April, four incredible supporters, brothers Harry and Archie Parker, their uncle Tom Parker, and Danny Phillips, took on the TCS London Marathon 2026 in loving memory of their father, Nick Parker, and Peter “Jock” Hutchinson, proudly running in support of Lawrence Nurses.  Sadly, brother Johnnie Parker, had to pull out with an injury but hopefully he will be able to run the Marathon sometime soon.

Both Nick and Jock were cared for by the Lawrence Nurses team, and this challenge was a deeply personal way for their families to give back and help ensure other families receive the same compassionate and dedicated care at home. Danny is also the son of Jane Phillips MBE, who founded Lawrence Nurses alongside Dr Martin Lawrence, and who sadly died of cancer in 2011, cared for by the very team she helped to establish.  Danny has supported and fundraised for Lawrence Nurses for many years, running marathons, and half-marathons, organising golf days and quiz nights – we are extremely grateful for his continued support.

Their amazing Marathon fundraising efforts have raised over £18,000, and with Gift Aid donations, the total now exceeds £22,000. This is a truly terrific amount and will help us continue to provide free end-of-life nursing care to people in their own homes, as well as vital bereavement support for families when they need it most.
